Although I have had several different types of razors in my possession, I have still only shaved with one.. My Gillette Fat Boy.
I have been given a great deal of advice, some has been taken, some has not.
Members of a very comprehensive shaving forum called Badger and Blade have advised me to try different razors to help me with my razor burn problems but I have pigheadedly neglected that advice and stuck with my Fat Boy.
About a week ago I dialed it back, at the behest of some more experienced DE shavers. I was shaving with my razor at "6" which may have been a bit more aggressive than a beginner should be attempting. So I turned the dial back to 3 and I have been shaving at that for several days.
The results of my razor burn were much improved but the closeness has been affected. I seem to be rocking a bit of stubble that I cannot get rid of. But its no more hair than I used to have when shaving with my Gillette Fusion, so I think I am at a break even point right now. With the costs of DE blades so much cheaper that Fusion pro glide blades, this might put me ahead of the curve in at least on category!
